Research Interest

Develop machine learninng models and efficient real-time large-scale optimization algorithms for high-dimensional data (i.e., Images, profiles, signals) in different industrial systems and spatio-temporal systems for anomaly detection and system modeling

  • May 2026, our paper Path-Coupled Bellman Flows for Distributional Reinforcement Learning was accepted to International Conference on Machine Learning (ICML) 2026 as a regular presentation (authors: Boyang Xu, Qing Zou, Siqin Yang, Hao Yan). Flow matching with path coupling for distributional RL; improves stability on offline benchmarks including OGBench and D4RL.

  • Feb 2026, our paper D-Convexity: A Unified Differentiable Convex Shape Prior via Quasi-Concavity for Data-driven Image Segmentation (with Shengzhe Chen) was accepted to IEEE/CVF Conference on Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition (CVPR) as a Highlight (approximately top 3% of accepted papers).   • Apr 2026, Jiayu Huang was selected as Outstanding Graduating IE PhD Student for the 2025–2026 academic year (Industrial Engineering, Arizona State University).

  • Jul 2025, Jiayu Huang defended her dissertation Knowledge-Infused Bayesian Learning for High-Dimensional Spatiotemporal Data Analytics. Her IEEE CASE 2025 paper Multi-modal Generative Modeling of Event Sequences and Time Series for Solar PV Systems received the IEEE CASE Best Conference Paper Award (winner among ~430 submissions).

  • 2025, ICQSR Best Paper Competition Finalist for Exact Multistage Bayesian Optimization (with Siqin Yang, Kangan Chen, Andi Wang).
